… I may have received from an unnamed CCO:
Earlier this week I got a long email from my son’s Latin teacher. He sent it to all the parents of his students, apologizing for his tardiness in getting papers corrected, tests graded and grades posted. He blamed it on his workload, some personal issues and the stress of the past year. He wasn’t making any excuses, he was just taking responsibility for his shortcomings and saying he would turn it around and do a better job of preparing this summer for the next school year.
It was very honest and from the heart.
I will do no such thing. I’ve got a ton of excuses I can trot out for not preparing for our class over the last month. I’ve got a lot of people to blame, and I could name names. My wife has been traveling. My oldest son is now driving and that stresses me out. My cat allergies are flaring up. I can’t keep the patio furniture dry with all this rain. Have you seen my desk? I’m underwater. So is the dock at our cabin. The 2-way light switch on our stairway doesn’t work.
So there’s no class today. And no assignment yet. Now that I think about it, it’s probably your fault, too.
I’ll get you something very soon for the next class. We need to get this back on track. I’m very impressed with the work I’ve seen so far and I want to make sure it continues.
